My experience with micro scalp pigmentation in Heerlen at BALD is very positive. After having suffered from thinning hair for years, I finally decided to opt for an SMP treatment.
For a number of years, my hair was getting thinner and thinner. Especially at the front and on top of my head, my scalp was becoming more and more visible. At first, I still tried to hide it by wearing my hair differently, but in photos and under bright light, I could see it more and more clearly.
I had already read something before about scalp micropigmentation (SMP) En scalp micropigmentation (SMP), but I was mostly afraid that it would look unnatural. In the end, I searched online for micro scalp pigmentation Heerlen and I ended up at BALD.
My first contact with BALD
Ahead of time, I sent photos of my hair to BALD. Tim looked at my situation and explained which areas would need to be treated to achieve a natural-looking result.
What I liked was that they didn't just look at the area where I was experiencing the most trouble myself. They looked at my entire hairline, the density on top and how everything would eventually fit together.
During the initial appointment, we discussed together what my hairline should look like.
I absolutely did not want an excessively tight or too low hairline. Above all, it had to look as though I had simply shaved my own hair very short.
The first SMP treatment
During the initial treatment, thousands of tiny pigment dots were applied to my scalp.
Right after the treatment it took some getting used to of course, but I could immediately see what the end result would be. My scalp was much less noticeable and a clear hairline was restored.
BALD doesn't build up the result completely all at once. I actually found that reassuring afterwards. With each treatment more density is added, allowing the result to develop gradually.
The difference after multiple treatments
Especially after the second and third treatment, I began to see the big difference.
The pigment dots blended more and more naturally into my own hair stubble. Where I previously used to look straight at my bald or thinning patches in photographs, I now saw mainly an evenly shaved haircut.
That was ultimately the biggest difference for me: I was no longer constantly worried about what my hair looked like.
Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?
This was one of my questions beforehand. Of course, everyone experiences a treatment differently, but personally I found it quite manageable.
The treatments take a few hours, but in between it was possible to take a short break if necessary.
Should I have scalp micropigmentation done again?
For me personally: absolutely.
My biggest doubt beforehand was whether people would be able to see that my scalp had been pigmented. In the end, I actually received comments that my short haircut suited me well.
In my view, that is precisely what good micro hair pigmentation should do: people notice that you look different, but not immediately why.
For everyone who is in doubt about SMP or micro hair pigmentation in Heerlen, Limburg, I would recommend sending photos first and having them assess what is possible in your situation.
In addition to Dutch customers, BALD also welcomes many customers from Belgium and Germany, including from Aachen, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Mönchengladbach.
